VidinVidin is situated on the bank of the Danube, in the most northwest corner of Bulgaria, 199km northwest of Sofia.
The region has a continental climate, the top temperature ever measured being 41oC, was in August, and the lowest winter temperature ever recorded is -32.5oC, however the river Danube usually makes such extremes less common. There is snow for less than three months a year.
